MC Perkins Cove

Our first gig at MC Perkins Cove was a big success. Some of the usual suspects from Joe Allen were there as well as a lot of new faces. It looks like this is going to be a great new gig for us so come and enjoy the view, the food, and the music. We're playing from 7:30-10:30 or so. The kitchen is open until midnight and the bar menu is affordable and spectacular. So start your weekend early and come see us every Thursday until further notice.

In the revoltin' development Dept: The gig at Tempo for this week and next has been cancelled and it looks like we wont be playing there any more. There was no real reason given and the whole thing was handled in the most unprofessional way possible.

I once drove all night, from Buffalo to Lima, Ohio, set up the gear, and... In comes the band - the "real" band. After a brief moment of tension, we realized that clubowners and/or booking agents must have been at fault. Sure enough, the agency hadn't received signed contracts from the owner (who'd been trying to cancel us for a week by phone...) The club owner was decent... gave us free food and drinks (?!), and gas money to get to the agency in Columbus. Next day, hung over and with vengeance in our hearts, we drove to Columbus. We waltzed past the receptionist with lit cigars and cases of beer. The agent was telling a new band that stardom awaited if they got matching jumpsuits and "shag" haircuts... He tried sending us away, but... no luck - of course. We smoked and drank in his office until he found us work for that night. He (John was his name)threatened to never book us again, but his boss, J "Cement Shoes" Santonelli, liked us, and John almost threw up when we threatened to to tell about the screwup. That night, ensconced in the dormitory of the nursing school where we had just performed, we declared that this act was sacred revenge - not just for ourselves, but for all musicians who have ever been screwed by an agent or club owner. I hope to do it again someday.
